Not all young, men, or Christian.  We are inclusive and welcome all to our membership. Over 3000 members strong - most under age 13 Over half of our members are women and girls. We do not allow the inability to pay prevent a person or family from becoming member of the "Y".   Who We Serve   Thousands of children and adults in the greater Nazareth community every year as members and non-member program participants in various activities. During the past years, the YMCA has served over 80% of the youngsters enrolled in the Nazareth School District. In addition, we continue to strive to expand our programming in other parts of our service area including the Boroughs of Pen Argyl, Wind Gap, Bangor, and parts of Moore, Plainfield, and Washington Townships. Nazareth YMCA Mission Statement and Operating Principles The Nazareth YMCA’s mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. The Nazareth YMCA is an association of individuals who come together to promote positive values. It is an inclusive environment open to all persons and seeks to serve the entire greater Nazareth community. The programs conducted at the YMCA are designed to be both age appropriate and safe for participants regardless of their abilities. The Nazareth YMCA, consistent with the Pennsylvania Human relations act and the Americans with disabilities Act, will make reasonable accommodations in its programs and services for those with disabilities. There is no charge for any aide of person while they support a person with disabilities in an activity or program at the YMCA. * All YMCA members, participants and staff must behave in accordance with the YMCA’s values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Inappropriate behavior, including, but not limited to, aggressive or threatening behavior, sexual harassment, harassment or intolerance towards others based on their race, color, religious creed, sex, ancestry, national origin or disability, inappropriate and/or profane language or other inappropriate conduct should be reported to YMCA staff or, when the offender is staff, to the Board. Those engaging in inappropriate behavior are subject to disciplinary action, including, but not limited to suspension or termination of membership privileges, termination of employment or denial of access to the facilities. When a disability is related to the offending behavior, the YMCA will take into consideration the characteristics of the disability as an extenuating circumstance. *This provision relates to persons accompanying members with disabilities and is not meant to suggest or require that the Nazareth YMCA provide such an aide or assistant.  While we are unable to provide one on one care to our membership, aides may accompany any member to a YMCA program.
